Since becoming president in 2002, Allen Greer has continued the Greer mission of providing private and public companies and entrepreneurs with best-in-class insurance packages for their organizations. His deep expertise in the Affordable Care Act and other areas of insurance and employee benefits makes him a sought-after speaker and consultant throughout the southeast United States.
After attending Georgia Southern University on a football scholarship, Allen graduated cum laude in 1987 with a BBA in Finance. He received his insurance license later that same year, and attended Georgia State University where he received his Master’s Degree in Risk Management in 1988. After receiving his Master’s Degree, he joined Mass Mutual, where he worked for two years before moving to The Greer Agency in 1990. Allen received his Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) degree in 1991 and his Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) degree in 1992. During his career, he has served the insurance industry in a variety of organizations, including a stint as president of a professional underwriters association.
An avid golfer, Allen is a past president of Eagle’s Landing Men’s Golf Association. He also served as a member of the Board of Governors for Eagle’s Landing Country Club. He enjoys outdoor activities, the Atlanta Falcons, the arts, and developing a deeper spiritual understanding of the world. As a farmer, Allen tends to Greer Acres, a 126-acre fruit and pecan farm in Monticello, GA.
